Save a soul for Christmas

Greetings brothers & sisters;
You know I've been doing some thinkung. I know that with the economy the way it is it's hard to afford extra for the holidays. I've been thinking and thinkung of what to get Beautiful Becky and our kids with pretty much a budget of $0.00. I know that the old saying is that it's better to give than to receive but I was wondering if there moght not be a way to do both. Let's see here; the first Chtistmas present was Jesus himself. There's the giving part but it looks like we ate the only ones who receive. Then again Chtist does receive us back into his family and joys to see the love he gives to us passed on as others receive it from us. So what can we give that will be received and yet let them give God's love as well? Twice Becky and I have gotten Bibles from Christian bookstores to send overseas. I forget the name of the program, but I know that most Christian based bookstores are participating around the country. The way it works is that for $5.00 you buy a nice camo colored paperback Bible. Now you can if you want keep it for your own. Or you can leave it there and they ship it overseas to members of our troops. Or better yet you can take it with you and write a personal note of love and encouragement in iy. Then ask all of your friends to sign it and even takr it to church and work and anywhere else and get as many as possible to sugn. Ask each of them to pray over it as well. Then take it back and let them ship it to the troops for you. Someone overseas putting their life on the line will then receive a gift filled with both the Word and love of Jesus, but also with all the love you and your friends put in it. And who knows, it may even reach a non believer and save a soul. What a gift where all receive.
